Audrey Diaz | Community Affairs Director

Audrey Diaz currently serves as the Community Affairs Director for The Campaign for College Opportunity.  She is responsible for leading a community engagement strategy for an unprecedented, statewide, bipartisan coalition that seeks to ensure a college education for millions of California students and a healthy economic future for the state.  She is based out of the Campaign’s Los Angeles office.

Before joining the Campaign, Audrey served as Programs and Policy Director for Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE), a statewide nonpartisan, nonprofit organization committed to advancing the status of Latinas through education, advocacy, and leadership training.  At HOPE she was responsible for leading a statewide policy agenda in education, health, and economic empowerment and managing HOPE’s flagship program, the HOPE Leadership Institute (HLI).

Prior to that position, Audrey served as Special Assistant to the Secretary for the California Business, Transportation, and Housing Agency during Governor Gray Davis’ tenure. During her time with the state, she managed a myriad of projects to improve the state’s aging infrastructure systems. Diaz was also called to work on special assignments such as California’s Census 2000 effort and the Governor’s Diversity Taskforce, designed to address the aftermath of the passage of Proposition 209.

Audrey is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy and Management.  She received her Master’s in Public Affairs with an emphasis in Domestic Policy, and a certificate in Urban Policy, from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.  She is a former fellow of the Women’s Policy Institute, a program of the Women’s Foundation of California designed to increase the number of women leaders in California who are actively involved in shaping and implementing policies that affect the health and well-being of women and girls.
