In 1960, California’s leaders made a promise that every student who could benefit would have the opportunity to attend college in California. This has been one of the most important civic commitments that we have made – and kept – as a state, one that has since been emulated by other states and countries.
Many of today’s civic and community leaders have benefited from the opportunity to attend college. We take pride in the accessibility and quality of higher education in our state; but we can not take this opportunity for granted. Civic leaders are now getting involved to extend that same opportunity to the next generation of California students.
The Campaign for College Opportunity is committed to working with civic leaders across California and across party lines. We encourage members and leaders of professional associations, civic groups, alumni groups, cultural organizations and others to get involved. We also work with local and state elected officials, as well as retired elected officials. Find out how you can get involved.
