Life is the physical state of mind.
College is a life long dream of mine.
The situation I'm in
Yet holding up my chin,
Knowing with out college I can not live.
I know I can make it, it's not that hard.
Trying is the battle; I just have to stay on my guard.
Walking in the streets with all the gangs and violence
Looking at all the killing happening in my province
Getting money for college is just the beginning
Graduating college now that's a good feeling.
I'm not begging you to save me a spot,
Just want to let you know what I got.
Millions of kids trapped just like me, wanting to go but knowing it's not free.
I want to get a spot in college to change the world
Change all the lives of the boys and girls.
Knowing that when they grow older
The world as we know it won't get any bolder.
There's nothing left for them to do
They don't have an education; can't add two and two.
Would this have happened if they went to school?
Save me a spot, it's not just for me.
It's for all those kids in every family.
Save me a spot, so I can make a change
So later on in life the world won't be so strange.
Save me a spot, you will be making it right
By helping out a teen in his perilous fight. |
