HISPANICS

We have been looking up from the fields where we quietly dream, We have knocked on the door, allowed to enter and clean, Our hands have been baptized with the dishwater from plates we could not afford, We have been given keys to come in at night and polish the floors, The garden is ours to keep and to care but as for the parties you wont find us there.

Our hands oh our hands for too long we have been known only for the service of our hands

We must look across from a desk learning our dream, We must open the door and ask to be seen, Our minds must be baptized with knowledge and thought, We must take the keys and unlock the lock, And the garden will be there to keep and to share, And as for the parties we'll always be there,

Our minds oh our minds for too long we have needed a place to service our minds

So save us a spot because we have so much more to offer.
