Save me a Spot

I want to go to college

So please save me a spot

Continue my further knowledge

So please give me a shot

I won't give up, keep on trying

Working hard and bringing change

Because I'm the future on which you're relying

And what I can become has a wide range

A teacher, lawyer, astronaut

Anything, just name a profession

As long as you save me a spot

Make sure that I get the right lessons

I don't want to be like the other lost ones

I may not know what I'll be, but I'll be in school

I won't drop out or become undone

So please let me in, just don't misrule

We live in a place of rich education

Kids don't want to be abate

Knowledge is part California's foundation

Kids need colleges in our state

Opportunities are not to be thrown away

I'll take every chance that comes to me

I won't be left behind in disarray

And I'll eventually know what I want to be

We grew up wishing on shooting stars

Wondering what we could become

Knowing someday that we could go far

Don't back down from whatever may come

Break off from the repetition

How would I use a chance like this

Find a true ambition

And be proud as I reminisce

I want to be a student in college

A teacher, lawyer or astronaut

I want to have every kind of knowledge

So you've got to save me a spot
