Picture your self walking a slow and steady walk to no where, no place at all, that's how we feel under the drugs, crime, shootings, and deaths. My peers and I are under a rock, which is overcrowding the rose that wishes to flourish. We need a place to go and relinquish all the transgression that is bringing the society downward because of the lack of leadership and education needed to attain a college education.
People have the divine right to pursue happiness and the only way to be happy in this generation is to educate your self as much as possible. There are many issues in the life of a teen that is college bound. The main concern for a teen is money and the lack of scholarships and grants to actually pursue the American dream. Several take advantage of scholarships but the chosen few that are ambitious enough to take the time out and write their soul and gut feeling get let down, so why even seek to make it to a four year university? Many think like that but I myself have hope and enough desire to really tell myself that someone out there will give me a chance and hear my knock on the door.
There has been a substantial decline in intellectuality in the United States. The majority of people going to college have jobs that are paying the bills and acquire some sort of college education. For us to compete in this society we have to be educated and the only way to get educated is by going to college and willing to put forth the time and effort that is needed. A scholarship would be a stepping stool to success and paving us a road to a delectable future.
To be Mexican and African American, you can capture the "best of both worlds", but I would like to be fond of the college atmosphere and live a better life than what I am living this moment in time. I have been preached continuously that college is the ticket out but to get there is the problem because amongst my peers and me, we all know our parents are hard workers but they cannot help us pursue our destiny in being what we desire to be. This means we need a jump start to success by Californian leaders. So please Californian leaders save us a spot in college.
