Campaign for College Opportunity:
Privacy Policy

The Campaign for College Opportunity will ensure careful safeguarding of personal information provided to us by our supporters, volunteers, donors and others who subscribe to the Campaign for information and updates. This applies to information collected online, through the mail, or in person at our events. Please read separately our Privacy Promise for Minors.

  1. We will safeguard any information our supporters share with us. The only information we collect is information that you voluntarily provide us.
  2. We will limit the collection and use of supporter information to the minimum required. In most cases, this includes name, address, email, telephone and fax communication, etc.
  3. We will permit only authorized employees or other authorized representatives of the Campaign, who are trained in the proper handling of supporter information, to have access to that information. Employees who violate our Privacy Promise will be subject to our normal disciplinary process.
  4. We will not reveal supporter information to any external organization or individual unless we have previously informed the supporter, been authorized by the supporter, or are required by law.
  5. In the case where a Campaign supporter uses our website to contact their elected public representatives or other public officials, submit a letter to the editor to the media, or other such correspondence, the supporter’s personal information may be included automatically in that correspondence.
  6. We will not sell or trade your name or information to any other organization. If another organization approaches us for a joint activity or with information we think will be of interest to you, we will directly provide you the information or provide the partner a list of mailing labels for one-time use.
  7. In certain cases, Campaign staff will provide contact information at a place of work for professionals in our network to other professionals, journalists or citizens who seek information that is reasonable and where we believe such contact is mutually beneficial to all parties.
  8. Individuals or organizations who choose to donate or formally endorse the Campaign will be listed by name as donors or endorsers, unless they request that information to be kept anonymous.
  9. Our email newsletters and group communications will provide supporters a way to unsubscribe from our email communication lists. Supporters can also contact us at any of our offices to be removed from our lists.
  10. Whenever we hire other organizations to provide support services, we will require them to conform to our policy standards and to allow us to audit them for compliance.

We will continuously work to ensure your privacy is respected.
