They are rightly concerned about educational and economic opportunities in our state and want to ensure that all Californians have the opportunity for a better life for themselves, their families, and their communities.

For decades, college opportunity has been one of the major paths through which families could secure better jobs and a better future. Access to education in our community colleges and universities, including the state’s independent colleges, is one of the most important equalizers in our society. California can not afford to close the door to college to a growing and increasingly diverse young population.
